Welcome to the website of the Greyhound Trainers Association

The GTA is the only official body representing Greyhound Trainers and Professional Greyhound Trainers that race under GBGB rules and is committed to securing a financially secure and prosperous future for its members.

The Association is currently chaired by experienced Wimbledon trainer Ricky Holloway, who was elected in August 2012.

Ricky has also put a committee in place that has a wide range of trainers, from experienced "large kennel" trainers to smaller trainers with only a few dogs in their kennel. These trainers also represent both graded and "Open" racing, something we feel is essential for the GTA to be effective.

The Association has recently invited the group known as Greyhound Trainers (training a maximum of 12 dogs) to join, something not previously allowed, as Ricky feels it is important to represent every trainer.

The GTA now faces the task of both providing effective representation for all trainers and encouraging a newer, younger breed of trainer to play an active role in both the running of the sport and the Association.

We realise the importance of communicating with our members, something that has been neglected for many years by previous GTA committees, so to find out all the latest goings on please visit the News page regularly.

Trainers should also feel free to Contact Us should they require updates or further information not available on this website, or assistance with any training related issues they may have.
